Why go to college?
Further education is the answer to all your knowledge needs. College is the place where you can find yourself, express yourself, and learn what you want to learn. The great part about college, while you have to take certain classes to get the education that you want, is that you will be keen and focused on what you want to learn.
Each class will be focused on specific topics and views unlike the likes of secondary school where the topics are broad. What do you want to learn? What degree do you want? Not only will you find yourself, but you may even find your call, a new passion, and the career of a life time.
How do I choose a college?
Colleges and choosing the one that you want to go to isn’t just about the name. First, you have to choose a major– Deciding what you want to major and minor in is key to choosing the college that you want to go to. You don’t want to choose a major and find out that the college that you have chosen does not have that major.
For example, say you have an ultra specific major and that major isn’t taught at one of your college choices. That would scratch that college off your list. Maybe you’re going to college without choosing your major– You don’t have a clue and that’s ok. Sometimes your major finds you. Be sure you are familiar with the financial aid (if you’re using any) that each colleges of your choice offer, make sure that you’re able to get a degree in your major, and most important– Make sure you’re comfortable going to that college!
